Letter from Prof. dr hab. inż. Józef Dubiński

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am very pleased to send you a few words of invitation to participate in the next edition of the international mining conference from the International Mining Forum series once again, which after less than two years, the Association of Mining Engineers and Technicians is again the organizer.

When in 2017 we started the organization of our first IMF, whose substantive partner, similarly to this year, was JSW Innowacje, and the host was Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, many questions and doubts arose at that time. The most important was the question about the legitimacy and sense of adding another mining conference to the calendar, and during a not too favorable of various circles attitude to mining. Despite these doubts, supported by our partners, we sent invitations all over the world and more than two hundred guests turned up in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. In the opinion of many conference participants, IMF 2017 proved to be a successful and useful meeting of experts, scientists and entrepreneurs from the mining industry, who for almost three days exchanged experiences during the meetings of several thematic sessions and visits to the JSW S.A. mines as well as during the backstage meetings.

From my observations, the greatest beneficiary of IMF 2017 was the management and engineers of JSW Innowacje and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa who not only had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new trends and modern solutions of the mining world, but some of them began to be learnt and introduced to their daily work . About the effect we will find out during the session of IMF 2019, which in its assumptions is just to present the effects of multilateral activities of the host of this conference in the field of implementing innovative solutions and technological innovations in their plants.

I do hope, and indeed I am convinced, that the fifteenth edition of the International Mining Forum, to which I would like to cordially invite you once again, will be a good continuation of previous meetings. I believe that it will provide participants with many interesting experiences and will contribute to building a positive image of mining as a modern industry and meeting the difficult challenges posed by the extremely complex situation of the modern world.

With a mining greeting "God bless you"

President of the Main Board

Association of Mining Engineers and Technicians, Corresponding Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences
